This term in year three we have been studying the book Matilda by Roald Dahl. Earlier on this term we had Roald Dahl day. It was great fun. We did many fun activities such as: acting out a scene from Matilda; making blue fizzy drink called ‘blue bubblers’ from The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me; and doing a Matida word search (which ended up being quite crowded). Last of all we got all of Roald Dahl’s made up words and had to make sense of them. I found making the blue bubblers the most fun because our tongues went all blue! When we were acting out a scene from Matilda my group did the part when Miss Trunchbull threw Amanda Thripp over the fence by her hair! We did this scene because it shows how Miss Trunchbull hates plaits.
That day was also the birthday of one of my teachers. So one of my other teachers pretended to be Miss Trunchbull and call up my teacher (whose birthday it was). My teacher had to pretend to be Bruce Bogtroter from Matilda! The next thing you know is that she is bringing in a giant chocolate cake! At recess to celerbrate her birthday we all got to eat it! I hope there are many more days like this.

WOW that was a fabdubules day! I
think I’m turning into Roald Dahl with his silly words.
I could go on for ever but I am not.
Chynna.
